Eh, opinions are different for others. But for me a good example of this would be Friday the 13th. The first one I thought was meh, then it got better at the second where Jason actually came out.

Granted, it got worse and worse with each sequel, but just considering the first two here.

Interestingly I just watched Mad Max I & II and I get like the second was way better. The first isn’t bad, especially considering the low budget, but the second was a beast.

Zodiac (2007) - 8.10, solid movie all around, nothing to complain about but nothing really spectacular.

Annihilation (2018) - 6/10, good premise but ending up underwhelming

Before getting into this, I tried watching Uncut Gems, but I couldn't make it very far. It was just too abrasive and annoying to put up with.

They (2002) - Watched it due to nostalgia, saw it about 13 years ago, noticed now how much of a generic horror movie this is.

The Haunting of Molly Hartley (2008) - Garbage.

The Gallows (2015) - Garbage found footage movie

All Cheerleaders Die (2013) - With a title like that, I wasn't expecting anything great, and I was not disappointed. However, it was entertaining.

Knives Out

Even going in with fairly high expectations, I was pleasantly surprised. In the strictest sense, it was a classic murder mystery. The way it kept you guessing was that you never quite knew what exactly it was that you were supposed to be trying to figure out.

The King of Staten Island

Wanted to write more about this one but I just can't think what I of what I want to say. I was pretty hyped about this one and ultimately it fell short. I absolutely will give it at least one more chance since I didn't actively dislike it and feel it is easygoing enough to just throw on.

I was super happy to see Bill Burr get a significant role. He was awesome in it, for sure.
