What set would be ideal for an 105fcr mf sorc?

Just off my head, Magefist, shako, tal amor, that dagger with 50 fcr, some mf boots? Suggestions please.

I kind of want to go with Blizzad but which boss is cold immune?

Or is lightning sorc an better option?

Merc should be like Infi, Forti and Andy's Visage or whatever the name was?

if d2r, best build is self-wielding Infinity Nova Sorc

if d2lod, best build is Lightning Sorc (infinity on merc). Pure fire or pure cold is viable but you will be limited in terms of what areas you can run. Though Cold/fire hybrid is usually the best for a solo run-through or if you're on tight budget (but yeah, as soon as you get Infinity on your merc, pure Lightning >>).
There are no cold-immune act bosses but a lot of normal/magic/unique mini-bosses are cold-immunes.

keep in mind that clear speed > mf%.

considering d2lod, an ideal setup for solo runs with some %mf for a lightning build (117fcr) would look like that:
Griffon's -25/xx
Hoto + Spirit
Enigma
Dracul's (for the laek) or Chancies (if you want moar mf)
War Traveler's
Arach
Mara + 2x Sojs
Torch + Anni + Gheed's + skillers

merc: eth Infinity (Giant) Thresher, eth Andy face, eth bugged Fortitude

honestly u dont have to worry too much about cold immunes so
u can do blizz if u want

I don't know much about D2R prices so you'll have to figure that by yourself

Usually self-wielding Infinity Nova Sorcs go ES (not vita) so the only res you need to worry about is poison (that can be solved via inventory and/or a pair of eth sands).

Typical gear for that build is:
Griffon's -25/xx
low-reqs Infinity -55
Vipermagi
Magefist
eth Sands or rare frw mana (p)res boots
Arach
3light 10fcr amu or 2sorc 10fcr stats amu + 2x Sojs
Torch + Anni + Gheed's + skillers + probably a lightning Sunder

that's for a 105fcr build, meaning you won't hit 117fcr for lightning but according to what I've read around here, nova is strong enough and you won't need to use lightning on bosses.

This. At this time of the season, you'll be able to buy a cold sunder, which breaks cold immunes.

And Blizzard and Frozen Orb don't share cast delay anymore, so you can Blizzard/FO now.

You would have a better chance at finding goodies if you run with 2-3 characters, plus you’ll have helper(s) killing whatever is immune to you, i run a blizzer and summoner and hdin in one run (never have any issues with blizzer immunes and i run pretty much everywhere that’s 81+ilvl)

I also run a hdin and trapper sin in a different run, don’t ever have issues with immunes

With sunder charms blizz can still be lower damage and be very safe and efficient in higher player counts. Light and fire are more powerful, but also more gear dependent

What's a cold sunder?

I never heard of that.

Hdin would be my favorite choice but as of now, I have no items at all and from what i've seen so far, building a hdin will be too expensive

Sunder can break immunes, say, a monster has 100 cold res, then you can't dmg it with cold dmg. But by putting a cold sunder in your inventory, it'll become 95% cold res. Sunders are Grand Charms.
