Curious to see the general consensus of a few things for blizz sorc on hcl. Is vita the way to go? Or is block worth it? Then there is the choice of stormshield vs spirit or possibly another shield option. Wiz spike vs spirit sword? Im looking to kinda start low budget and work the character into some better gear to mf in. Also how about breakpoints? Im assuming just hit the 63? Getting to 105 will drop alot of res/mf i would think. Its my first time doin bsorc on hardcore so still learning. Any input is appreciated!

Do you have a cta or not?

If yes then ss max block.

If not then I still wouldn’t go spirit shield. Too much str. req. Probably just 2x pdiamond mosers without block. You can experiment with whitstans max block too.

If ur talkin low budget then vita sorc
Id personally do stormshield if its a low budget build
Its up to you honestly, if u tele well then spirit.
Focus on life and res charms
Focus on res items until they are maxed out
(Yes res > fcr)

before you start.. you are not supposed to tank so max block is unnessesary. you got a merc for tanking

therefore

as budget blizz sorc in hc you should go for:
Spirit wep
Ancients pledge (until you find a monarch and make a spirit)
the rest of the gear: res (until cap) > hp > mf (when you start to get items for trading try to get Shako, Tal armor+amu+belt, Spirit monarch 35 (must be 35), Occu, Nagel/Natures peace/Dwarf/Soj/BK + 1x 10fcr ring (only needed if you dont have a 35 spirit), aldur boots (for fire res), trangoul gloves (fcr + cold res). this way you got about 300+mf, max ress and 105 fcr)
charms: res > hp > mf

stats: str to use gear, rest vita
and skills: the usual 1 pointers is: 1 warmth, 1 frozen armor, 1 static, 1 teleknisis, 1 tele
the rest in cold tree

and most important...

Do not have cta or mosers. I do have a whistans though.

Without cta you can probably start without a block, using Ancient’s Pledge to get res.

So is it ever worth max block without cta? Seems like health pool will be very low to reach max block with ss

Nah...

Your health pool is low. And I can’t claim to be super experienced on HC but from my limited experience I’d still argue it seems worth it. Especially if you get a shako and then a few plain +life grand charms or something. The stat benefit a sorc gets from vita is pretty pitiful after all.

It’s probably just a function of how safe or risky you wanna be. I teleport using a controller, so SS+ max block had been wonderful for me and I don’t have a cta yet.

Are ypu playing hc or na? I also play necro on hc which is max block. They benefit from it more as well since they also only get 2 hit points per vita which is the worst in the game. I think sorc is same.
