To answer the op's question, yes, it's a good change. More trade is good. Sometimes had so many tempest roars, and wanted to give them away to a friend who didn't have any. Now, it's possible.

The innovation from Modern Blizz is releasing features that existed 24yrs ago and expecting praise, which from simpletons like these in the comments, it comes as no shock or surprise

Fundamentally trading in D4 is not in a good spot, I have to tab out of the game and fuck around searching on Discord for anything I want to buy or sell, shameful.

If you have to tab out while playing at any point that is pitiful design.

Open up trading with an exchange or some form of in-game implementation or close trading altogether, those are the only 2 forms of trading I'll accept.
