Basically starting PG for
A depth big since he can't play with Ayton
+ 3x 1sts total once Malcolm gets traded(one of those from Warriors via Smart) . It's what the Celtics paid for him, so I don't know how they'd get more with 1 less year on his contract + the injury situation last year.

Warriors 1st probably 25+
Whatever late 1st they get for Malcolm once they flip him to a contender
Celtics 1st in 6 years could be big

Celtics still kept 1st 2024 (own), 2025 (own), 2026 (own), 2027 (own), 2028 (Spurs) better for trading imo.
Still able to trade 2x 1sts and 3x 1st round pick swaps ty Blazers

Value looks absolutely fantastic on paper but I am dam happy getting the best player in the deal for potential players

You're talking about Rob "the 2nd best passing center in the NBA and next big thing" Timelord Williams?

honestly i think both teams benefited from the trade, Blazers got loads of value and Celtics added a spectacular player to push for a championship

Cs fans were saying Smart is better than Holiday for a long time, if that’s the truth then this deal is terrible for them

Nah, that was just homering Smart

No way in hell is Smart better than Holiday. But then again, who knows how much of a leader Holiday will be. Celtics could now be missing that vocal tough leader they had in Smart.

Holiday for sure wasn't that vocal tough leader like PJ Tucker was for the Bucks. Clear difference personality wise. Jrue is more of a quiet dude that needs a leader in place.

Yeah, and the Celtics don't have that vocal leader now that Smart is gone. They lack the leadership to be that team guy in big moments. Who's gonna be that guy bringing the intensity and leading the huddles and playing gritty?
