It wasn't just the streamers that were creating false hype. Reddit was full of copium warriors saying it was an amazing game and downvoting the piss out of anyone who would dare say otherwise. Part of me thinks it was the marketing team hiring bots to up vote promotional advertisements (positive feel guud posts) on reddit and DV anything that sounded like dissent. I remember a few people here who were based throughout the whole process though instead of being swept up into the copium filled lies.

This game is a prime example that dishonest marketing can still generate massive sales. From the shill streamers to the vote manipulation on reddit, it was hook line sinker for many players that didn't do proper research. We probably witnessed the biggest stinker of a game in history still do record sales. Unless maybe one of the later halo titles but I stopped following Halo after the second game. Blizz seemed to have greased all the appropriate wheels and silence others. That reminds me everyone should look at the game journalist scores D4 was given. Those game magazines & organizations really gave it a 10/10 or 9/10? How? Why? What makes it a masterpiece? I bet they can't explain themselves on that if questioned by the public now in retrospective.

ofc they can't. paid marketing shills are littered all over online message boards. then you got the actual users who were d4 guardians then started to talk trash about the game after. at least for them i'll give them the benefit of the doubt as they got bamboozled by blizzard. but with that said, they should have known, especially if they saw what happened to d3 and know what wokeblizzard turned into.

only person i'll give a pass to this is , because he mentioned he was gone for a decade lmao

It's a real shame all of the warnings fell on deaf ears. We had proper feedback on the game being dogwater, but it was censored or ignored. Now blizz feels validated because they hit sales goals so this whole process will probably repeat itself.

Their new motto is "if we can't make a good game we can at least make up for it with good marketing."

D5 has to be from another better gaming company to revive the franchise. Otherwise it’s D2R n good single player games out there.
