D2s population is dead. It's been dead for years. D2R was just a nostalgia hit and everyone left again. Just because a few people still play does not make a game alive and just because there's more people playing something obviously doesn't make a game better. D2 is just old that's all. People moved on.

Hopefully enough people stay away from the expansion. I know my casual friends are not buying it. They stopped playing the game after 3 weeks. The wife and myself still play from time to time but man they really dropped the ball on this one.

So stoked for PoE 2 however. Getting the wife into PoE since she never played back in the day. Hopefully PoE 2's popularity forces blizz to work hard but we shall see. I am doubtful.

i dont expect poe2 to be competitive in popularity to D4 tbh, yes it'll be a much better game (poe1 already is) but if blizz is good in 1 thing then it's PR and advertisement, reaching a much larger audience (like collab with KFC, hire megan fox..., get billly eilish to make a song for it, ADs in Television/youtube/twitch/others, pay game"jornalists" to give good reviews etc. etc.)
most casual gamers who like arpgs still don't even know poe exists ... 10 years later

tl;dr blizz doesnt rly give a fk about poe/poe2 and GGG isnt going to make blizz work harder

so we are basically doomed and blizz is probably just going to add new content to Diablo 4 via paid expansions and change nothing else

they give a multi billion dollar conglomerate their money, then complain about the game being shit. not realizing after they made that purchase, it completely negates and undermines every single opinion they could ever spew about the game, as the company got their $ and views you as the customer as a success.
