I'm a deal hunter. I'm down to buy an old Corolla if it was owned by a old lady or even a one or two year old new car that for whatever reason the owner changed his mind and got a different colour.

I genuinely do feel like I can avoid spending real life money by exercising the same urges in virtual environments to rid myself of any cravings.

Good thinking. I bet it works. We are basically craving for a small satisfaction so whether it's real or digital it's still envy.

Flexing is an interesting thing. It's basically expectations management by doing the opposite of what everyone expects. If you and I show up in a lambo, fancy suit and expensive watches etc that would be considered a flex. If elon musk shows up in ripped jeans and in a 2008 Toyota corolla that would also be considered a flex but not vice versa.

Last time I had a car was about 10 years ago. I sold it and started to go by bike and train. Never looked back.

Nah, that's how they get you. All these new vehicles adding in all these extra sensors, GPS, etc etc and then have the audacity to tell you that your privacy doesn't exist and everyone will sell this data to the highest bidder. From the Car manufacturer, to the dealership, to the auto body repair shop.

We're talking about information like where you live, everywhere you've traveled to, how long you were at each location how fast you were going, how hard you braked, your vehicle repair history, if you were listening to music or on the phone at the time etc etc. and that's if you don't connect your phone via bluetooth or one of the many "CarPlay" type features.

Information that should be protected suddenly is okay to give free and clear.
