Star Upgrades or Forum Gold purchases do not count. It is simply a 25$ Donation to the site. Purchases do not count as a donation.

Pretty sure you can get it thru "donate for me" types of donations too can't you?
If someone else donates the $25 in your name vs your fg?
I might be wrong though, i'm not one for stars or anything lol.
