The blatant whitewashing and promotion of a
"depoliticized" Biletsky and a "calibrated nationalist" Sternenko in the most respectable international media is not due to ignorance about who they are. There is abundant information-also in English-about their ideological and criminal backgrounds. Nor is it that Western intellectual elites refuse to criticize Ukrainians during wartime: they only recently framed Zelensky as a corrupt dictator for trying to rein in the "anti-corruption" institutions. And it is certainly not because Western publics are deeply invested in the Ukrainian national cause-most have a strikingly poor grasp of what is happening.

No. It is because liberal rule at the has always depended on Biletskys, Sternenkos, "moderate democratic Islamists," and other "freedom fighters" on the peripheries. And as liberal rule begins to unravel at the core, "centrist" elites themselves will grow more open to authoritarian practices and obscurantist ideologies.

Sounds like a great guy! at least he was never in the Azov Battalion or had any affiliation with them. Never once stood in front of the 1st commander of Azov (since he WAS the 1st commander), either, so clearly a model officer. I was reading he was attacked by Russian HAWKS, Russian propaganda, no less! Can you believe they accused him, him! of having neo-Nazi or extremist views? Yes Ukrainians often are catious about black people, this is mostly because there are no black people in Ukraine.
So this is something strange to them, they are scared of mass immigration, they are scared that mass immigration will change their country and that they wont be the same Ukraine any longer.
They read that there are some problems with immigrants in the western Europe.
Does being a catious about immigration mean you are racist?
Its debatable, imo it doesnt.
But letting unlimited immigration into your country is just plain stupid. You should only accept as many immigrants as you can integrate into your socjety.
