He believed that the deterioration of US-China relations must be avoided as it would result in serious consequences for Asia-Pacific and the US’s Eurasia strategy.

NATO was founded after WW2 to counter the USSR. Had Germany behaved like a civilized neighbor then the USSR wouldn't have occupied the whole of Eastern Europe. The Germans invaded the USSR and behaved like savages, open a history book ffs

The USSR withdrew after negotiations with the West and promises were made that NATO would not expand East and we all know what happened.

The last couple decades NATO is being used as a geo-political tool to threaten and bully anyone who doesn't fall in line but this time you provoked a response from a country you can't bully into submission. Good.

NATO is an aggressive and toxic alliance and deserved a monumental loss like the one the Russians are inflicting right now. It will take decades to rebuild meaning decades of peace for the rest of the world.
