Never played barb. But want to give it a shot. Will be for pvp not pvm. Looking for the best options for gear. Thanks in advance.

Yo, there are some ways to build them, here is one:
Barb:
Grief ba + beast ba (stash -10wsm of those as well)
3wc wepons(3wc/lt and 3wc/lr falfal in both for style)
Enigma
Arach (stash dungo and tg as well)
Gores (stash hots and 3resi boots as well)
Highlords
Trang oul’s (some like gleglaws, dracs and steels as well, but hardly any need for those)
10fcr/ar/str or life/dex/mana/@ ring
Wisp (stash raven, dwarf, carrions, natures as well)
Diadem: 2barb/20fcr/visio or ar/2 soc adds (chamBer or chamLo)
Also stash coa with BerCham, guillaume, and a some form of cold stack, and some 20fcr/3soc with forexample berberCham or berberber.

Torch
Annie
Cube(6bo helm, 3wc adds ammu, 2 sojs or bk, demon limb)
Lc 6max/48ar/8fhr
4 scs 5fhr/3max/ar
Scs Max/ar/life
Scs life/5@

Also Nice to keep a 3bo metamorphosis helm, to cast mark of the bear for 25% boost to eias and 20% dr. (180 second duration)

You may add other stuff, u can have fun with dual throw offhand, or single throw with phoenix and high damage fools jav. Singlethrow Get its ed% add from throwing mastery twice.
Ofc u can also have a angelic ammu and a ring, and a 2barb/20fcr/20@/60life or lower amulet in stash to. You can also keep a widowmaker.
I prefer having some extra dex stats for boost to ar snd ofc it adds some def as well.

DHA 63fcr barb guide works wonders for d2r as well.
You may add whatever you like as well. Like coa etc.

I forget, but i killed them like 2v1 in tpk all day, so bad i quit.

basically a bva has a setup for like everything.

what the other 2 did forget to mention is stormshield ber, stormshield eld, stormshield shaeled, if you go for 75% block or not depends but u use ss defintily vs bowazon and other barbs/ghostsins. if other barb is geared for bvb u will die.

there are 3 booo setups: 2x 3boo + strenght 2 sock items, 2x hoto for tele swap (if opoonent is bad caster). 1 hoto/3boo + cta 3 boo (gives +7 boo)

also on swap you want to have this bow which gives you guided arrow with um rune for es sorcs

20/5s you only use in tvt matches, esle always 20/11s

you also have next to coa ber ber 31% a coa ber + a nice jool perhaps 15% req/15@ at least, else a rare gg jool

also respeccing with token is a must if you plan on playing competitve

circs you also want to have 2/20/ high single resi + 2 matching rune

basically you want to have several gear options to adapt

also you want a 2/20 amu

and never would use cube: 4x more 3 20 20 is tooo good than few extra life which will perhaps not let you tank another hit.. well you can calc here.

look for dha bvc guide and use that. if a barb wanna duel you just alt+f4

lol most barbs in pubs arent decent. no nedd to alt f4.. decent bvbs you perhaps only find on discord or if you earch for bvb matches (and then gl on getting the rares like a fools mode eth ba with rep, eth rep barb helm with right skills and so on..)

and practically thx too shared stash you can have a bm setup for everything.

also if you want to bm maximum get doom ba.

All bvbs died to a guy with a long range grief, high defense, 36 ar scs and open wounds.

with d2r you got incredible stash, which limitied d2 LoD barb builds, so like now you can versatile the build far more

I would suggest you read all this guides and adapt them to d2r, as some stuff shifted, like fhr is not the same way important as it was in d2 lod pvp (for my perspective it still is important enough), desnch is different, weapon switch is different..
