You can see my earlier suggestion, which I mistakenly posted in the wrong section, here: https://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=106673632&f=389&o=0
After some help from the mod team, I understand this is definitely the better place to share it. And the bonus is I can save my FG, since public polls carry more weight than paying a bounty.

Anyways, the recent threads in S/A about the xCEOx impersonator, namely ceo#21776, made me want to do something to help make d2jsp a bit safer for new traders.
To that end, I propose to make the picture below a reality: sticking this scammer’s name somewhere clearly visible at the top of the forum for better awareness.
Most scammers on site are usually locked fairly quickly so I hope this banner only target the verified ones that scam d2jsper off site.

I've already encountered ceo#21776 twice, and given how new I am to the site, I can confidently say this guy is a proactive predator. The main reason I avoided being scammed was because I happened to see a drama ISO thread where someone casually mentioned him. That’s pure luck, so yea I insist this change is a much needed step forward for new traders from my anecdotal experience.

I get that most people who frequent Site Suggestions are long-time JSP veterans, and I know some of you might look at this and think it's just another baby handholding proposition. But I ask you to take a moment and stand in the shoes' of a newcomer. Just like how streets need signs and banks flag known scam numbers, a bit of visibility here could prevent a lot of regret, and in the long run, It reduces repeat scams, and strengthens the community as a whole.

I see what youre saying, the only thing i have a problem with is, there are trade rules and general rules to go with while trading here, but yea the scammer tag exists because some people scam ofcourse.
With your suggestion it is likely that an innocent user will be put up there.

I like the idea, i do think it needs a whole lot of work and thinking it through, what could be the consequences for this.

for now i must say no.

Voted no because this isnt how jsp deals with scanners. Honestly if people fall for impersonators bs one should rethink how you do your trades

Ty for the thoughtful replies above.

As for the possibility of innocent user wrongly accused, I only want ceo and diabolo on the sticky post, and no other names at this moment. Its because these two are the most notorious off-site scammers. No point adding more names if we cant even shut down these two. The thinking throughs can be done after the number of repeated scams by these two goes down.

As for the second reply, I understand this suggestion will probably be received poorly by the jsp veterans, thats why I wrote the last paragraph in my topic post.

Again, Im just glad I can get this off my chest and share with the community. I look forward to more votes and replies.

Before someone could be put in one of those posts it would have to be proven first.
And if it is proven they get a scammer tag, so this whole thing is pointless.

The idea sounds nice, but in the end all this is just "I wish scammer accusation would work faster".
But this process takes time, otherwise it would be just a heap of unfounded accusations without regulation.

And we all know it would be abused badly.

I will have to stress that Im only targeting off-site scammers as stated in my post. You cant put a tag on them since they dont show their jsp account in the first place.

EDIT to reply to the comment below: ty for understanding, the off-site scam victims were indeed making basic mistakes and this suggestion will still be a hand-holding proposition at its core. But at least when they browse d2jsp and glance that sticky note from time to time, they will realize the bnet id seems familiar when they get scammed in-game and off-site. Thats all I hope to achieve.

As for the s/a team, Im sure they are trying their best to find the one responsible. However I believe there's simply not enough incentive for them to tackle this difficult task. Hence why I tried to offer 1k fg in my previous closed topic, to incentivise.

again ty for your thoughts.

Fair enough, but off site impersonation scams like this case only happen by ignoring basic safety rules here on jsp so I don't really see what the sticky would change.

But sure, if the scammer accusation team determine that it was a scam and they just can't get the jsp account responsible for it putting the ingame acc in a sticky might help.

But I am also sure the S/A team is trying to find out who on jsp is responsible for these scams, because it really looks like someone here is.
It just takes time and most likely involves methods that are not visible to us users.
