It is factually correct that the US sees China as a threat, it has created a ring around China, it has sanctions against China.

I think we have to look at this like a car. A car on a road. it is driving in a direction. it is not so easy to turn the car around once it has picked up speed, and currently the Ukraine - Russia conflict is picking up speed in Europe.

The first person whom Xi Jinping seek an audience with when he came into power was non other than Putin.
And to be honest with you, it took Xi almost 10 years for him to even get Putin to " Ally " with him. And it happen because of the Ukraine war.

Xi wouldn't have gotten his second term if the world didn't turn out the way it is. And please note this. East Asians are very pragmatic. The main congress in China would have elected another new guy over Xi and play the weak role kowtowing to the West especially USA.
You will still be able to siphon as much wealth as possible and make the Chinese look like a weak weak nation. And with a tiny bit of intelligence, move production and manufacturing to other countries just in case.

i completely agree with you that the natural progression SHOULD have been Russia gravitating towards the EU ( and this is what Putin wanted in the early 2000's ) but the fact is that the US decided against this and instead PUSHED Russia towards the Chinese.

So while I can see your argument, I believe its more a "what could have been" rather then a reality today, or tomorrow.

The Chinese if you know their history have a habit of submitting when necessary. How do you think they are willing to be governed by the Mongols and the Manchurians for a few hundred years each.
They went as far as wearing Pigtails when the Manchurians force them to, and the West always think Chinese means having a pigtail which is not exactly a Han culture.

China could also say they have been very tolerant to the West. It is a simple fact. And it is not just the Han Chinese.. And this I can personally attest to since I mix with the Japanese and the Koreans a lot.

The Han Chinese , Japanese and Koreans do not think they are inferior to the West. They don't really think much of the West to be honest, because they think for the past couple of hundred years, it is a historically anomaly that the West is powerful.

Long story short, like what said and what I said a few years back, a WW3 situation will occurred unless the West is willing back off a little. If not we will definitely see it.

If I am to place a bet , on conventional battles, I will bet all my Forum Gold on the West and I believe 70 to 80% the West is going to beat the Chinese into a pulp.
However in a MAD situation, I will bet all my Forum Gold on the East.
