Maybe the demand was already formulated in Russian sources back then, but I'm referring to these events from September 2022:

At least in Western media, Russian demands for official acknowledgement of their annexation of these four oblasts were only reported since then.



Honestly, it would surprise me if Russia had already demanded Ukraine to officially cede these four oblasts on Feb 23, 2022, one day before the invasion had even begun.

I went away from the topic when the back and forth between peace negotiations started and neither side really wanted peace. Did Russia or Ukraine make any gains last month? Is there peace in sight at all?

I'm not really following it, but it seems like Ukraine is still entirely delusional and uppity and in denial that they must make a peace deal (giving up territories as Russia sees fit) or else lose support & stare down total loss of statehood & capture of Kiev
