boohooo poor Putin. Humans who want to be free and democratically elect their leaders are a thread to Putin? So he starts to bomb them and invade their country, inventing shit about Russians being surpressed? And you are like "yup, sounds right, I believe that" - of course democracy is a threat to Putin because its antithetical to his leadership. But does that mean we are okay with him bombing the shit out of any country that wants to be free? Also whats the source of Zelensky being currupt? Fox News opinion hosts? Newsmax? Some dude on X? Don't make me laugh.

You are a hopeless case of mainstream media brainwashing...

No point in discussing anything with you.

its not a debate if you are just in your echo chamber only talking to people that agree with you.

That's literally you, your side has ever refused to talk with anyone who disagrees with you, while we seek it out

I understand that with the end of the cold war, promises were given to Russia to stay out of their sphere of influence and with former Soviet states joining NATO that promise has essentially been broken. So obviously tensions have been increasing. But as we are all living in parts of the free world enjoying liberties to vote an idiot like Trump into the white house AND to be able to call him an idiot, I will not hold it against other people to strive for freedom themselves. And thats also essentially what is at stake in the end. Looking at the US which used to be a strong democracy for many decades and an important pillar of global stability, its clear that we cannot take that for granted. While your political view may be different than mine, its quite obvious if you look at the US from the outside that democracy is at the brink of being lost. But while you may feel comfortable with Trump, what if the next guy ruling the US is just another Putin? Once institutions are so hollow that there is basically no way to challenge him anymore and he starts to take away freedoms that you care about? Maybe he feels uncomfortable about the people having so many guns? It's easy to look Ukraine that is far away in Europe, point fingers and just eat up all that propaganda shit but really a lot is at stake right now that transcents political views/parties and is more about if the next generation of our own children can live in free and fair societies.

yea thats just how it is. People laugh and point fingers and think the "other side" are all idiots. But while we squabble about who is "right", Trump takes that 400mil plane bribe, enables insider trading for his cronies while small businesses go brankgrupt with each swing of the Dow, allows foreign actors to funnel money to him directly through his meme coin and y'all are like "yea, thats my president". 🤡 but what actually is at stake is that we one day lose the right to chose our leaders and all kinds of other things that we currently take for granted. Maybe you are okay with that but then again statisically Americans can barely read at a 5th grader level and Trump supporters clearly are at the lower end of that bell courve average. So you are very likely just uneducated and misinformed so excuse me if I can't take your opinion that seriously.

You're a 🤡. Your side already did everything you accuse us of lol. Sorry bud, you lost, now you will be destroyed. Strap in these next coming years will be fun

Actually I have not watched much mainstream media at all. If you have some basic critical thinking skills, are willing to spend 2-3 min on fact checking the occasional info you read online and have some basic moral standards there is no way one could ever believe in all that pro Putin propaganda. But it seems you are a hopeless case of the Dunning Kruger effect. I get it… it’s the easy way for the simple minds :)

Geo-politics isn't about moral standards and if you like to fact check I recommend reading some history books and you'll find out that Russia was invaded by "morally superior" European powers multiple times with catastrophic consequences for the Russian population because the invaders behaved like animals.

Russia has plenty reason to distrust a military alliance like NATO expanding into Ukraine which has been NATO's goal since the USSR fell apart after negotiations where the West promised they wouldn't expand to the East.

If you want to fact check the bold part here's the official NATO link --> https://www.nato.int/cps/en/natohq/topics_37750.htm

Quote from linked article:

Ukraine’s future is in NATO. Relations between NATO and Ukraine date back to the early 1990s and have since developed into one of the most substantial of NATO’s partnerships.

the fuck are you talking about? You've been fed too many conspiracy theories. There is no evidence supporting your claim. But feel free to post evidence. As I said, lets talk. I am willing to listen

feel free to read what I wrote. I said exactly what you are now quoting to me and acknowledged that promises to Russia have not been kept in terms of staying out of their sphere of influence (see my point also about average reading comprehension of Americans, thx for proving it). And I do understand why geopolitically, Putin may have felt backed into a corner by Nato and lashed out. What I don't understand is why you are all basically defending Putin and think that is the correct response. Putin isnt defending the Russian people, he is killing tens out thousand of them in a war to keep his regime alive. And yes, one may say "Who are we to know what regime the Russians want? Why to we put our morals on them?" Fair point. But then, why not have open and fair elections to ask the Russian people? Why threaten people during referendums to ensure they vote how you want them to? Why did someone like Nawalny have to die if you are so sure you stand for what the Russian people want?

The expansion of Nato was a political process that took decades, supported by votes of the American people (bc lets be honest, Nato was and is to a large portion controlled by America). And America used to be a champion of democracy, understanding that long term peace is more likely achieved if the people have a say in their fates instead of a couple of strongmen butting heads.

People - given the choice - don't want to live in a country where they are murdered for speaking up. Heck I bet you don't want that for yourself. So why is it okay for you that Putin wants to basically subject millions of Ukrainians to that fate?

Where exactly did I defend Putin? Show me.

This is about geo-politics and even the poorest countries in Africa fight bitter wars over territory or resources. Am I defending African warlords now?

Acceleration of land loss in southern Donetsk over the last 24-48 hours. This could mean either:

1. Ukrainians are willing to cede certain territory as part of these initials peace talks, or
2. Ukrainian military is rolling over in that southern sector and in reality the urgency of the peace talks is to try and freeze these rapid advances
