The sarcasm here misses a key point: Russia has publicly said many times it's willing to negotiate. It's actually Ukraine and its Western backers who have refused talks for the past three years, insisting on total Russian withdrawal first — an unrealistic precondition. So mocking a ceasefire as 'fake benevolence' ignores that one side has at least left the door open, while the other slammed it shut.
Russia has also publicly said many times in late 2021 and early 2022 that they have no intention of invading Ukraine (while their tanks were already rallying near Ukraine's borders).

Nothing screams "willingness to negotiate" louder than keeping up and even intensifying attacks on your opponent...
By the way, the Trump admin has more than signalled its willingness to talk to Russia and even given them a major concession (ruling out Ukrainian NATO membership) without demanding anything in return, it has still went nowhere.
Recent reports suggest that even Trump is losing patience with Russia and is "steaming" over their continued shelling of Ukrainian cities. Trump, who was really inclined to believe the Russian narrative and has no love lost for Ukraine or Zelensky.
