Russia wanted Ukraine to fall, and had plenty of Russian agents from ussr times, who were making mess and corruption in Ukraine. Ukraine mistake was that they should cut all ties with Russia asap.
There really is no other country to compare with that.

UA and RU held another round of body repatriations
909 ukrainian men recovered by russia traded for 41 russian men recovered by ukraine

Now that could reflect lopsided casualties or it could be a product of Russia advancing while Ukraine withdraws, giving them control of trenches and their contents. But thats a full 20:1 ratio now

This merely confirms that control over the territory where the bodies were found matches this exact distribution. Just rephrasing to put it simple.

Poland made a sharp turn in the early 90s and cut all trade and other ties with Russia.
Also a starting point was different, as Russia didnt have enough Russian agents in Poland:
While Poland was under soviet occupation, Russian citizens and agents were not mass transferred to Poland during the occupation.
We were kinda lucky that Russia decided to mass colonize Ukraine and not Poland during the occupation.

Whose produce were we buying? Whose groceries? Some of that stuff is still on sale today– those same awful sauces. Meanwhile, authoritarian Belarus is saturated with Polish products. What’s your point even?

When the war ends, you're going to see a massive amount of western capital flow back into Russia i think. Rouble climbing in anticipation of that market becoming accessible again.

Deutsche Welle did a massive propaganda piece on Ukranian 10 year olds learning to defend the motherland. As usual instructors have swastikas and volfangels, nothing to see here, totally normal.
