You realize we do not have a groundtruth to compare those numbers to, right? We have a handful of different estimates in the same ballpark with Ukraine being the lowest and one wildly off by known liar Putin. That's why I said it is "implied" that Ukraine underreports given the wikipedia article.

I can see you are not good with logic, luckily I am here to help.

We are not comparing Russian and Ukrainian losses here. We are talking about deliberate underreporting, which means lying. So even I can help myself, and at the same time, help you.

I know, russians have an estimate for Ukrainian losses that is much higher than anybody elses. Maybe try reading the article or at least show some numbers on what you base your opinion on.

Not only am I convinced that the losses are underreported, but the article you provided also suggests the same.
Thus, Zelensky lies, like any politician, including Trump, inflating or downplaying numbers to his gains. Such gains doesn't necessarily have to be personal.

While this method of “false until proven otherwise” works well in science, where you can repeat the experiment as many times as needed to convince everybody, it doesn’t really work well when it comes to human matters, incomplete information and - especially - politics.

You kinda have to assume some level of bullshit to begin with or otherwise you end up far from reality.

Remember that the first victim of war is truth.

I think it’s reasonable to assume that Ukrainians try to paint a rosier picture of their situation than reality would suggest.

And so do Russians, in their media.
