You can image why Trump wants to get rid of him. There’s a famous Russian tale “The Crone and the Goldfish”.

It’s a story about an old fisherman who caught a Goldfish that was ready to grant him every wish. The modest fisherman refused the gift, but his wife wasn’t so reticent and started demanding more and more exorbitant gifts, ending with the demand that she wants to be The Ruler of the Sea with the Goldfish as a servant.

After hearing this, the Goldfish withdraws its support, and the crone reverts to her previous destitute state.

This was the behavior of President Zelensky throughout this war. Every possible ally was reprimanded, rebuked and cancelled – from antiwar Russians (including a hideous campaign against Navalny), to Polish president, etc. Everybody owned it to Zelensky. Nothing was ever enough. There were never a “thank you”, always a “you should give more”.

Yesterday President Zelensky tried to cancel President Trump and to tell him that the Goldfish must do what Zelensky wants.

Oh wow, I didn’t realize it’s a German fairytale originally.

Lots of Brother Grimm stories have different versions in German and Russian. I don't mean the interpretation but the original oral folklore. I was told by my neighbour when he was teaching his 10y kid German tales.
