I'm really looking forward to the post-post-truth era, a kind of modern day truth and reconciliation.
That's what a real accountability should look like. Not criminal charges, not forever war, not right by might, not censoring people. Bringing out the truth in the long run. We'll have to face up to the fact that the US supported a revolution by an ultranationalist minority in Ukraine but wouldn't invest the strength necessary to oppose a nuclear power on their doorstep, just enough to get Ukrainians killed. We'll acknowledge that children weren't at particular risk of Covid but locking down the country cost them a year of school. We'll admit Trump didn't collude with Russia, that the DNC rigs its primaries. There are so many stories like this where the mainstream media has just deep throated the disinformation and treats it like scandalous heresy when someone dares to speak the truth. Hell maybe in my lifetime people will even admit Ilhan Omar was born Ilhan Abdullahi Nur Said Elmi and married her own brother
That narrative does not exist in europe yet. We still have all these experts crying on national news about how trump is a weak leader, handing this victory to Russia which will (and i quote) "embolden dictators all around the world that might is right". w/e!
