low pay job in Taiwan as compared to the USA when it comes to wages. And they work longer hours and no complains.
I believe when they are moving TSMC to USA , they are also moving their techs and engineers over. You might have catch wind about this ?

Well, the TWD dollars have risen significantly, but if you were to compared then and now, when they moved their tech over and last maybe 10 years or so.
It is extremely profitable to do so.

You probably pay a Taiwanese engineer 40k USD as compared to whatever wages you are paying now in the US. Please note that I mentioned this, because it was at a time where TWD is much cheaper and it was at the height of production.

A Chinese engineer probably get paid 40 to 50K USD equivalent now , if they are making chips. Thats about 300K to 400K RMB per year with bonus maybe a little more at around 500k RMB. 500K RMB per year is huge in China.

Not longer hours. Average hours per week ranged from 80 to 100. Not better workers, and not fewer complaints.

It's all about being able to pay third worlders less, yet have them believe they're making more. I moved industries when my job was outsourced.

Trust me, I'm not interested in your opinion on American workers. I doubt you've ever been the the US.

I'm convinced you have a reading disability, because you're not processing what I'm saying. I'm glad you brought up TSMC. TSMC has already committed 60BN to build production in the US in Arizona(reshoring). Even if they buy Intel, again production for high end chips will be forced to be within the US. They are building in the US precisely because we want critical tech to be on our shores instead of within arms length reach of China if they ever decide to take over Taiwan. This is directly led by US interests to not have this type of critical infrastructure for us fall under umbrella of a geopolitical enemy. So how can you say nothing is being done?

There's an argument we aren't doing enough, i can agree to that but again i would say our economies are extremely codependent, but to say nothing is done is nonsensical.

So a foreign company starts building chips on-shore. And the US Government starts funding R&D just like they do for pharmaceuticals. Then, when there's an improvement, the patent goes to the company, and they make mass profits, which all go overseas. And of course, all the new discoveries will be hidden from their home government, and won't at ALL be produced on their native shores.

It'll be great. Just trust me. We've outsourced our tech to the point that the new owners of our tech are now outsourcing it back to us, in hopes that we'll help them come up with new innovations that they can make trillions off of, exactly the same as Pfizer. :)

I have been to US, you will be surprised that a lot of Asians especially for people in Singapore and Hong Kong travel a lot and get posted overseas a lot, and we have American friends working in JP Morgans and Morgan Stanley and Goldman Saachs posted in Hong Kong and Singapore.
We get updates all the time from the horses mouth.

This is not meant to be offensive by the way just to be clear. But that being said, we might not get the full picture all the time which is also why it is good that we get information from forums to update over selves to what is going on across the pacific.

So you've been to the Intel fabs in Hillsboro, Fulsom, Chandler, etc.?

I'm interested in hearing more details about your time in the US observing US workers.

Like I said, I might not know the full picture which is good for me to understand what I know from people in forums like you for example who is in the field. I will tell you what I know.

I move money for clients in out to regional South East Asia and to North America.
When the plans started to move some of TSMC factories to USA, a lot of my clients started to invest and ask me to move money out for them.

I ask them , why not Taiwan and Japan. They give me very straight security answers and I ask them about US wages since it is high.
They just told me straight in my face the Taiwanese engineers moving over are willing to take lesser pay for a green card.

In long basis, it is a plus for them, low wages better company profit. Simple as that.
However hard working your US workers are going to be and how well they perform, work long hours etc etc I am really unsure but you can let me know on that.

But I think in a previous post you also stated that you left your industry because of a couple of reasons which is well founded as well.

So fill me in in regards of the conditions, wages and working environment of those working in Intel Fabs. It would be a great insight for me when I speak to my US boys this weekend again.
It is always good to know more.

Yhe EU is set to send Ukraine an unprecedented aid package of up to €700 billion ($732 billion), though details are murky at present.

The package would not be announced until after the Feb. 23 German elections, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock told Bloomberg on the sidelines of the Munich meeting, as reported by German outlet Berliner Zeitung.

This would definitely bolster the EU's reputation for sure. Imagine if America thought it could decide European affairs without the Europeans present, and Europe decides to bankroll ukraine even without uncle sam's greenbacks. Its also not just about the dollary-doos, but if the euros will allow ukraine to buy more advanced European military tech.

Amazing scam. Ukraine is demanding nearly two billion for the recent unique, unprecedented, and only drone attack on the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in three years. By the way, the previous few billion went to a plastic cover, which is still burning, but you keep paying anyway. You're not suckers, are you?

I personally know developer/project manager for automations of Gefran (a company we sometimes order machines from). He needed to visit China and Japan. He told me their culture requires them to work long ours and the working day was too long for him. When Chinese workers came to the Italian plant in Brescia province, they were totally exhausted after a 8h day because the working pace is totally different.
The example may be anecdotical but both Chinese and Italians are human being. You can't concentrate too long or exercise the same amount of productivity over a long span of time. It's much more likely that Asians work longer hours with more people and less intensity while people in western 1st world countries get done just as much in 8 hours per day. No company pays you for just sitting there, so both kinds of people get the work done.
