Yes, I am agnostic. Also an atheist. Those arent mutually exclusive.
An atheist doesn't believe in a god, an agnostic is someone who doesnt believe its possible to know for sure if a god exists or not. Both is true for me. I am an agnostic atheist.
No person is EVER definitively an "atheist" nor is a person ever truly "agnostic" these are terrible binding and confining terms for people who never took the time to study "Gnosticism" or "Atheism" in their totality because had you done that you would see how foolish that sounds.
There is no such thing as a "nihilist". They would immediately commit suicide. Nor an "atheist" because in the attempt to negate all of theology you are bound by it not above it on any level intellectual or other. No "agnostic" you might as well say, "I'm open to thinking about new things but don't want to go past that or deeper then what I'm comfortable with(bias/ego/preconception). You've essentially already made your decision the same way a theist says, "God exists" with no argument.
You as a self proclaimed "atheist" actually DO have to put up an argument against "theist" because you are ACCEPTING that there is an ARGUMENT to be had when you say, "I'm an atheist". YOU as your EGO are making the proclamation that somehow deep down you know that all of what theists believe is horse shit.
Who are you? You say "God" does not exist but who says "God" is existing or not existing. What's your definition of God because not everyone's is a "floating man in the heavens". Do you believe in God as "formed" or "formless". Do you create the parameters of the universe that was given to you? Because this is why are ancient ancestors created religion/god in the first place. To remember and honor EXISTENCE itself and the EXEMPLARY beings amongst us namely "Jesus Christ" and "Buddha" to be quite honest.
Always understand that anytime you say "I" you are actually speaking as "GOD" the formed because you are SEPARATING yourself by WORD/NAME from what has been and always was ONE. You don't exist. You are given a name at birth nothing more. Is that who YOU are? No. The raw human being is God incarnate. Name a creature that gives itself a name and proclaims dominion over all things. Man. In his MIND.
In the Bible in the beginning was the word and the word was God.
What's the "fall of man". What's the "banishment from Eden". Why did "Lucifer" get tossed out of heaven? Metaphorically speaking.
When we separated ourselves from "God" the "Gods" or as you called it, "The science and nature and shit" WE as HUMANS creating structures/language/symbols/stories/science to try and "EXPLAIN" the "UNKNOWN" created our own universe of FALSE REALITY that we collectively as humans AGREE UPON.
A simpler example. A baby constantly says "da-da-da" in Sanskrit that means "that-that-that". The baby has not developed the EGO yet and so all THINGS that exist around it are just THAT. THAT is GOD.
Nothings humans have ever said or done in all our existence has anything to do with "God" or "no God" it is simply "that".
We created "God" and "Science" and both are meaningless mundane tools.
A Buddhist monk sitting in total peace and oneness with the Earth doesn't want to argue for a thousand years about "atheism/theism". The Hindus and Buddhist already did that for 1500 years. The Abrahamic folk and "New Age" folk should read more.
The whole "god" "no god" conversation was debated by the greatest philosophers in the East and that's where I think you should START your journey in ending your "agnostic atheistic tendencies".
Why am I saying this you may ask? Because 13 years ago I found myself saying something similar and instead of standing on a platitude I spent a decade finding the answer for myself. Seek and ye shall find brother.
If you even begin to seek(whatever seeking might mean to you) I can almost guarantee you will be pissed at yourself for calling yourself "Atheist/Agnostic".
