Perhaps you're right. Perhaps the number of a "Mere 38K dead soldiers and 28K dead civilians" out of Ukraine is the correct number. But even that's kind of weird, given Ukrainian media was telling me daily that Russia was nonstop hitting civilian targets. Russia must be really bad at targeting civilians for such a low death toll.

No matter how they were lost, be it to Russian machineguns or fleeing the country, Ukraine lost 3 million people, and those people were primarily fighting aged men.
