- plague vs curse match ups
- shadow gc is good staple inv but trap gcs will boost dmg when req

if your running HL's you should be pairing with dungos and still hit 65ez

asides that your fury and chaos is very gg but its not to be mistaken for melee viable. Hit and Run like a ninja.

65 fcr with dungos? Would have to run 2x fcr rings?

yes cham griff, highlords should hit ias bp without ias in griff, cd/20life sc to add for extra dps, can use shadow gcs to hit that 50dr

Simple 65ias build:
Griffon '15ias/15@'
Arach
Trang oul's
Highlord
Gores/Shadows
Raven
Wisp/Nature (dno what gm rules are atm in d2r)
Enigma

Then you need total of 42 ias to reach 9 fpa traplaying if main hand is runic. With 10% slow you need: 63.
So claw need 28 ias and to be runic. Which means, a plague mainhand will often end up with you having 10fpa traplaying instead of 9fpa.
Using chaos main hand in this situation may be relevant. (To be quite honest i never used plague, so i dno how stats apply when offhand, concerning aura and -res and i guess ctc is out of the picture?)

When it comes to wirlspeed, 4fpa is 20ias requirement before arach slow, and 39ias requirement after arach slow. That is if you have runics. If u have feral the ias requirement is: 39 and 58 if 10% slow.

A fury is a nice cheap claw. The -25% defense(which is 12,5% in pvp) and the 20% bonus ar is great mods, alongside 40ias/some ed/66% ow and 33% DS.

That should cover the main typical claws.
However, a rare claw may be much better. But that is only if it has sick stats...
I generally avoid any claws that is eth and zod rune. It needs minimum 1 FREE soc, ideally 2 FREE soc.

Nomatter how you build this sin, the direct physical damage is not very high, its apparent, but nothing to write home about. However, the fast wirl attack is really nice for CB strikes!
Crushing blow adds amazing output damage to ur attacks, and it works with kick.

So a 40ias/fools/some ed/BERBER or BERLO claw is a nice alternative! It does not have to be eth and cost 70k fg...
Combining this with Gores and HL and you start to deal pretty nice damage. High lifed enemies like paladins, assassins, druids and barbs takes quite a chunk of damage from crushing blow. Theese types of chars range between 4-8k HP. Some possible more, if useless zero flexible throphy room build.
This kind of instant DASH damage will quickly make them fear ur wirlwind, and thats step 1 of winning ;) The crushbow based damage will ofc have less effect the lower the enemy life pool is, but you still deal direct physical damage, venom damage and with a little luck the 35/10% OW has landed as well and will do its job futher. And you have ur trap damage and mindblast and shadows and bladeshields etc.

Then the low lifed characters are still heavy affected by Crushing blow.
NEC = Bone armor, but crushing blow pierce that bone armor and starts to take chuncks of life from necro from first strike! Meanwhile a regular ETH SELF high DS build sin would still need a couple of hits before he breaks bone armor, and nec can get away unscratched in many situations.
Sorc = Energy shield, same here, crushing blow, ow and venom all pierce this shield.
They are also both vulnerable to ur traps.

Anyway, this is a old topic from d2lod times. Except for the stunbased controlling the duel and the strenght bug and the valk 08 tacitcs and the different ias breaks it has very much important info for you to know while building ur sin:
https://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=83282797&f=87

Anyway, when ur doing 102fcr setup, then you need another griffon with 'cham'.
You need 2fcr rings and a nice fcr ammu. I prefer @ mod + either dex or life. Life is possible best here, but dex is cheaper and will grand you AR.
I also stat extra dex on sins to get better AR. But it becomes less relevant if trap based.

For gm duels, use a cube with demon limb, 2 x 6 fade claws, mara, and 2 sojs.
To avoid dropping items when cubecasting you need to avoid using a shield on bo side, or use a cheap whistan or sigons.

I would advise you to build the character in d2planner, and use warrens ias calculator for the ias breaks.

I dno how u prefer duels, but i prefer making my char flexibile, 1 gear to rule them all. And then be quite vulnerable if there is a blizz ingame xD For high budget builds i have a anti blizz setup though, gm, but strong, but i try to make that one flexible as well, so a blizz cannot destroy ur entire setup just by beeing apparent in the game.

Do not listen to the guys who wants you to use suawaya or war fists etc... Landing hits is not all about direct damage, its about venom, stun, cb, ow etc as well. The total output is important, not the listed damage. They calculate DPS based on a none relevant scenario etc, and claim that 5fpa wirl might have 2% higher DPS, and leaves out all relevant.

This is where i would suggest you build ur character in d2planner, and skill how you feel is the best.

Espesially in hybrid builds, playstyle and skill level may have different optimal skilling distribution for user.
1 mans favourite build, may be hard to use for another.
A passive and a offensive player may focus on slightly different setups.
Even thought we are in 2025, some people are still using F1 to F8 skill buttons. In such case they focus way more on main attacks, meanwhile other has half their keyboard in use for skills, where the typical pre cast and less used skills are hard accessable like F10-F12, meanwhile all constant used skills are located tightly around WASD.

All I know is that maxing MB is not as usefull as it was in D2Lod, it does however make ur SM cast more mindblast still, and it does still take more life than lvl 1 base mb. And the stun swirl will last longer so that all forms of attack will trigger a stun.
So yes, they implemented a STUN delay in d2r, however they also took away some tools to break stun like wsg, and a mean to avoid damage while stunned (Strengtbug/desync).

I can make a planner build for you later.

Here is an example using quite standard gear like fury and chaos. I did not stat much extra dex as this would lower ur life to 3,4k for a 10K ar.
https://maxroll.gg/d2/d2planner/hn6xz0zm

Here is an example of a mid tier fool's claw:
https://maxroll.gg/d2/d2planner/t76z00ms

Both are without adding much extra dex.

Here we raisex dex at the cost of 500 HP, now fury setup with 11k ar each side(damage and def is increased as well) , also check out the fool's with this statting:
https://maxroll.gg/d2/d2planner/dg6z80mb

To watch ur AR on wirl as an example, go to the calculation section, use the dropdown menu on wirl damage, and hoover ur mouse above the HIT CHANCE.
Also pay attention to the direct physical damage here, as you can see its quite low. And the difference between an inzane setup and a medium setup and how much little the deadly strike % actually helps compared to crushing blow you can also find from theese numbers.

I put remaining points into venom here, but you might as well put them on mindblast on second thought.
Ur dex ammount depends on who you think are hardest to duel?
Is it necs, druids, sorcs other assa, or is it barbs/paladins.
And which are you fighting the most?
And based on that, for me dex pumping has always been the way.

Let me know if u want to compare to a inzane (dreamnumbers) version :)

Edit:
I also used only 5@ scs, instead of MAX/AR due to stuf like griffon/flickering flame/plague etc more used in d2r.

Okay, so here i added perfect version, i statted str to wear upped gores as this one would have a nasty kick^^
65fcr setup:
https://maxroll.gg/d2/d2planner/qq75w0z1

102fcr setup(10fpa trap):
https://maxroll.gg/d2/d2planner/ij76h0m9

65fcr guillaume setup with 9fpa trap(may additionally have a cham guillaume if want wisp/nature peace/dwarf as secondary ring) :
https://maxroll.gg/d2/d2planner/gm76q0mo

The guillaume setup hits like a truck! But you loose quite much trap damage. A nice alternative setup if traps are doing little due to extensive absorb etc...

And since we here are adding inzane probarly never spawning items i add this visio setup, a little waste of fg if you ask me. The FRW actually is very nice as ur wirl move faster and the added AR on offhand side helps a lot due to how hitchance and wirl operate. Still, guillaume setup would hit harder.:
