"Not Seizing Territory = Losing": In the Western narrative, territorial acquisition is often equated with success in conflicts involving states. The framing that Russia is "losing" because it has not gained significant territory ignores broader strategic or political goals, such as preventing NATO's expansion. Comparative Silence on Israel: Western discourse often treats Israel's annexation and settlement activities differently. These actions, widely viewed as violations of international law, are less frequently framed as imperialistic or aggressive. Instead, they are often justified under the guise of security or historical entitlement, reflecting a double standard.
One can only laugh at the mental gymnastics involved.
"Russia is not stealing enough land to constitute a win" and then... silence... when Israel steals land, and ofc they say that Israel is not imperialistic. All the while Russia says it is not imperialistic, while Israel openly declares itself to be imperialistic.
