Either things need causes or they don’t. If they do, then the “first cause” needs a cause before that, and so on back forever. If things don’t need causes, if there can be something uncaused, then we don’t need a god to cause things; the universe itself could be uncaused. So, either way, the argument fails.

Also, Aristotle's claimed that his Prime Mover is only aware of itself, yet at the same time he contradicts himself in arguing that it somehow must cause physical change to happen so the causal relationship between the Prime Mover and the universe is not very clear.
It would btw. also mean no interaction, no prayer, no religous experience etc.

How would something that is immaterial act on something material anyways?

I dont know who claims to be a significant scientist, but I dont and never have and I dont identify myself with other people, so that point is completely invalid for me.
Everybody is a science affine guy in a way, I am just no a scientist or atheist scientist, whatever that may be.
You obviously dont underatand that being a scientist means having a profession in science which I dont have. So I am not a scientist, its simple.

Also, atheism, antitheism, theism, agnosticism, mixtures, whatever, they all have nothing to do with science. Absolutely nothing.
