If you have an aquarium style cage with a good metal top that's either clamped down or weighted down there's no way it will get out and even if it does literally nothing will happen they'll most likely go find a nice cozy corner and sleep lol



Some tarantulas are really beautiful, I like the green bottle blue specie you should check out "the dark den" youtube channel, or youtube search "giving my tarantulas water" those videos are pretty funny and kinda got me into tarantulas

They're repulsive. Best viewed at a distance, seperated by bulletproof glass.

LOL what makes you think that? They're usually chill and almost no tarantula bite can actually kill you.

It was a pink toed tarantula.

I just like spiders. They're easy to care for. I don't have any now as I travel. No pets of any kind for the moment - but hopefully that will change soon.

I’m afraid I went the boring route and got a G.Rosea (Chile Rose) as my first. Soon branched out in to more exotic stuff. This was a few years ago.

I had hrrrm, maybe 15 or 20 tarantulas at one point. Raised quite a few from spiderlings. Got really into the Indian and Malaysian species. The pride of my collection was an adult female Malaysian Earth Tiger. She was huge, 7”+ leg span, beautiful markings/colours, and with an attitude to match.

I lost interest in keeping them after a while, but still a creature I greatly admire.

That's really cool thanks for sharing, what did you do with the 20+ spiders? At what point did you decide you didn't want to have them anymore and how did you get rid of them?

Ah okay, have you heard of the dark den channel on youtube? pretty sure that's what it's called.

They are low maintenance for sure, one of the many perks



I gradually sold them through a few hobbyist forums. Not for much - I wasn’t in it for a profit Just glad to send them on to a good home. I got in to other inverts too - giant centipedes are awesome! As for how I came to sell them, I moved house and ran out of space, plus I was going through a heavy depressive stage and just lost the passion for it.

So how about yourself, did you/do you keep them?
