This should help, kudos to this guy for doing the math for us.
However LW is ok if you want to be extra safe (additional life tap, fade if you are too lazy to have treachery) but is fking expensive. Grief is just ok, cheap. I had LW when I played d2lod long time ago. Didn't make a huge diff as it was for ubers and it was cheap on nld.

PS - You asked why, only I actually helped to answer that? I hate when people are just saying something without further justification. Do they understand how hidden grief dmg works for example? Idk if blizzard somehow changed it in D2R. But worth explaining things and not jsut saying: grief ftw, lw for nabs ...

You'll be fine using either one, however Grief is cheaper to make / buy & does a lot more damage than a LW.

LW is more expensive, does less damage, however offers the benefit of tap, fade & 70% CB. However, tap you can get from dracs or Exile, fade from treachery & 60% CB from Gface + Gobins.
