How viable are vita fire sorcs vs all, since it seems ES is banned in GM dueling?

It is definitely viable. When dueling a barb, smite, bow etc I throw on my dr gear. Higher damage and high life compared to es. I swap out a bk ring to put on nature’s peace to run oak sage. Blizz sorcs usually all run vita with a block option in sva.

So gear like ber’d shako, enigma, verdungos? Would max block with HoTo and eld’d whitstans be possible vs certain builds or not worth the dex and/ or gear swaps?

So I have the items listed under the alternative gear. 3/100/2 helm ber/ber and jeweler armor with 4x ber. Could also use shaftstop as a cheaper alternative. You could go with a hoto/whitstan- but I have not tested this out to know the dex required. I know there would be a bit of dex needed - high dex gear may get you there, or using twitchthroe armor.

It seems the question is whether the benefit outweighs the loss in life.

you'd lose ~2k damage (50 damage per hit) and gain ~150 life
