2) Choose Class
3) Choose Primary Weapon (Weapon 1)
4) Choose Whirlwind
5) Add "Slowed By" or/and "Chilled" optional, if you wanna check the influence of slow effects
6) Check the table for needed IAS (Weapon 1 IAS + Gear IAS) to reach FPA
7) Write down / save the reached FPA for Weapon 1
8) Choose Primary Weapon (Weapon 2)
9) Add "Slowed By" or/and "Chilled" optional, if you wanna check the influence of slow effects
10) Check the table for needed IAS (Weapon 2 IAS + Gear IAS) to reach FPA
11) Write down / save the reached FPA for Weapon 2
12) Calculate: (Weapon 1 FPA + Weapon 2 FPA) / 2 (if its .5 then round up)
13) The result is the FPA for both weapons

Example: FPA 1 (4) + FPA 2 (5) = 9 / 2 = 4.5 -> 5 rounded up -> Both of your weapons will have a 5 FPA Whirlwind
FPA Illustration: 4 FPA = 6 hits per second | 5 FPA = 5 hits per second | 6 FPA = 4 hits per second

Note: The calculator for whirlwind as a barbarian or assassin is correct, but some other features and minor bugs gets updated in the future!


Lmao 117 IAS needed for 4fpa war fist

Certainly the WW skill ED will make up for it... oh right it's additive with off-weapon ED. :wallbash:

Thanks, very helpful. I feel like this change diminishes the value of lower speed claws. Do we still feel that suwayyah is the ideal base for chaos?

Suwayyah 4 fpa requires 83ias which is not attainable in most builds.
Wrist Sword requires 58ias
Feral Claw requires 39ias
Runic Talon requires 23ias

I feel having 2x Feral/Runic is pretty much necessary on both claws to reach 4 frame ww on standard builds.

What is better?

A: 2x Feral/Runic to reach 4 fpa ww with less damage output.

Or

B: War fist/Suwayyah to reach 5 fpa ww with higher damage output.

Suwayyah 83 is just a 40ias erep claw + 40/15 jewel + highlords + 15/15 in helm.

E/ ignoring 40ias EREP 2os claw because there haven't been any in a year of d2r

As I said before the patch came out (and blizzard even announced what they changed would be), under the vast majority of circumstances feral and runic are the only viable claws types.

Yet again, another nerf.

Do we know if they fixed the first 2 WWs hitting at 4 and 8 frames before IAS kicks in? The nerf isn't so bad if you consider that they brought back short WWs. It's mostly just a mana sink

Ya they added a hit in the 4 frame. So short WW works and there is an extra hit that there was before.

Not enough to make up for having to use low damage claws all the time tho on ghost.

A if you be a trap / ls based hybsin

B if you be a ghost or physical dmg based hybsin (like I am)

Thats my personal opinion!

5fpa = 5 hits per second
4fpa = 6 hits per second
-> This means that 4fpa "just" do 1/6 hits more within a second, which is 16,66% more damage if all hits landing.

But the damage difference from rt compared with suwayyaha or war fists is way more than 16,6%. Also u wont get a full 1sec whirlwind on most good players in this fhr weak patch. Most of the time u just land 1-2hits before opponent escapes.

Ya,

I would have to agree, any caster is already gone after the first ww. Now that you can’t stun lock or keep someone in perpetual recovery while attacking it’s not like you are wwing multiple times in a row.

Also, aside from gear IAS and slow effects change your ww speed, attack speed calculations are essentially the same pre 2.4.3 correct? Or am I missing something? Thanks.

I read the notes again.

I don’t understand why they would make it more complicated after initially simplifying it.
