I use salvation on every other character… but thought maybe since paladin has its own heal skill (also charges in weapon which is nice) it might be more beneficial as it will take less points to get hit charges.

healback is ok if you are healing early season with no caster in a full climb
not really as good for solo

Seems like I spotted this post a bit too late. Anyway, I voted "Salvation" for solo.

Now, it also relies on your items and how you play the game to where it is more beneficial.

If you are using high EE% armor and using a 1 sec delay weapon (normal weapon, not Heavy), you may choose to use Heal Back because your attack actions are dealing above 0 hits compared to your defense that has more 0 damage outcome. (remember that a 0 attack or defense yields 0 (zero) chance of charging up the ability you are using.)

Maybe I should compare it to my way of playing and if I had said item(s).

I am a Paladin, I am level 65 and using a level 55 armor with 180-215% Enhanced Effect with a level 55 Sword with 140%+ Enhanced Effect and a Main Charm of +45 Strength and a 125% Enhanced Effect heal type charm in my ACC slot.

With the above items and being a solo player, I would use Heal Back (4 ability points = 58% charge up), Powerstrike or Multistrike or Knockdown (using 6 ability points minimum to = 40% charge) ... Note: that only equals 10 ability points, whereas level 65 gives you 4 other ability points to add to something else, or add 2(or 3) more to those mentioned in this paragraph.

Anyway, with the above setup, I would choose Heal Back, that is because my defense armor = more 0 damage frequently compared to my damage, thus Heal back will charge up faster compared to using Salvation... now the opposite is also relevant, if I was using +XX Stat armor with 0 EE, I would use Salvation over Heal Back.

Hope this makes sense.

tbh with that sort of gear, you probably dont even need to heal unless you don't use the shrine

I 1-75 without any healing with significantly worse paladin gear on HC:

Angelic tempered diamond polearm
Level Req: 45
Damage: 325 to 868

+142% Enhanced Effect
+4 Life Regen
+1% Critical Flux
+11% Mana Syphon

Angelic tintitanium plate mail
Level Req: 50
Physical Defense: 60 to 180
Magical Defense: 0 to 13

+6% Mana Syphon
+1% Power Shot

Mythical wind VII
Level Req: 20
Spell Damage: 16 to 72
Mana Cost: 53

+29 Dexterity
+6 Magic Luck
+1% Critical Flux
+5% Physical Damage Reduction
+4% Mana Syphon

I do full dex at level 1 then rest is vitality.
I have this for EP waves, pretty nice physical defense due to mass vit:

Angelic ultimanium plate mail
Level Req: 55
Physical Defense: 150 to 452
Magical Defense: 0 to 32

+132% Enhanced Effect
+2 Mana Regen
+1 Critical Strike
+1% Mana Skin

However in your case i'd still go salvation if you wanted to skill a heal, there is an arguement to be had that seeing you're taking almost no damage anyway that healback may even charge faster, but personally would argue that healback is designed to heal 5 people so would need significantly higher charge to even heal more than a standard heal. (around 60% chaarge should be the same as a normal heal, around 100% for same as 2x heals) whilst salvation should be equal to a standard heal at around 24% and more like triple/quadruple at 100% charge.


The other main point about doing full vit with a dex/strength armor is that shrined items in general will heal more.
Tier 1's cap at about 500 healing, so probably the same for those for both of us, but 50% of my health back from an angelic level 35 is about standard at level 70.

With your setup, I would use Heal Back because the Heal charm is a WILD Heal.

Now as you have already read Bigheaded's post, and he is correct with what he stated, The best thing to do, is for you to test it out for yourself, have a feel of what is comfortable for you in your run(s) with either choice.

My last run I used salvation. Was nice throwing out 2,500+ heals, but also came with 500 heals (dam wild haha)
I’ll try healback this run for shits and giggles. Might give me some difficulty, using the arrows to move my character on mobile can be annoying (if I get pulled forward)

Big head is correct, I can make it through almost 1-60 without a single heal. Only seems to come into play 65-75+ 3x EP can be a little rough at times.
I don’t shrine much, mainly because lvl 15+ items sell on mp for skillers.

All things considered l, and being on mobile, it might be more beneficial to take no heal skill, and use a second attack to kill faster = less damage taken. 🤔

Hmm, I don't play on LS on phone, however, with Healback charging up faster (you may only want to add 3 or 4 ability points = 48-58% to test. You should reach like 75-100% charge fast and can use it then, or at 50% charge. up to you, this may make run even smoother.

True, you can still hold the Wild Heal in ACC and not use the skill ... I am guessing you went Base Intelligence 20?

I find Tier IV & V's (Mythical) and below to be handy to shrine, I save even the Tier III Mythicals and sell the others. as well.
