raynor, regarding a 5x5 program for bench, you generally just do one kind of bench right? would doing say a 4x5 on incline and flat wednesday, and 4x5 on flat and decline saturday be effective? or should i just try to push through and do 5x5 on both? im generally pretty worn out after 5x5 on just one bench but i still want to work all 3

You can do 4v5 on the others if that works better for you.

Hey raynor do you have a good bulking diet when on a tight budget? Currently 165 trying to gain some weight.

Yes...the basics are as follows:

1. Eggs
2. Brown Rice
3. Pasta
4. Frozen chicken breasts
5. Milk
6. Celery
7. Peanut Butter
8. Bananas

All of those are extremely cheap and very easy to eat. Just throw together meals throughout the day totaling up to 3,000 cals with at least 250g protein. Eat 4-6 meals per day if possible.

Hey man have you experienced tendon/elbow problems thus far in your training? I am starting to get pulsing in my elbow tendons and what it may seem like inflammation due to swelling, not really a pain but what I described above, I just want to avoid any injuries.

Thanks, trying to get more info on this issue

Yes I have.

The best solution for this is wearing elbow sleeves when going heavy.

also ice as necessary.

When lifting for strength, say with bench press, at what point do you usually decide to increase the weight? After you can hit one set of 6 reps? Or do you usually wait longer?

What exercises will increase my flat bench the most?
I just recently started lifting and usually just do random exercises, got any MTWTF workout plans?

Hey Raynor!

I wonder if Creatine is worth takinĀ“ if you want to go ''further'' with bodybuilding / training?

I am currently just taking Whey proteinpowder.

I mean is it worth start to take Creatine? I don't have that much money when studying, but well - I can afford that. :)

Thanks in advance!

You should increase weight EVERY set for pure strength training.

few questions about the 5x5 plan

1. when doing like 60% and 70% of your 1RM, I can easily do more than 5 reps, do I just do 5 to prepare for the heavier sets or should I do like 6-8 reps?

2. how much rest time between sets? also between exercises?

3. is it ok to do ab work in the rest period? or should i conserve energy and do all ab work at the end

4. should I just add 5lbs to each exercise the following week?

1. Yes this is correct.
2. About 1 minute between sets and 2 minutes between exercises
3. conserve energy and do abs at the end after a 15 minute break.
4. depends, 5 lbs may be too much or too little...however you can try that approach.
