i'm 6'3 230lbs
i'm extremely out of shape, i haven't lifted since high school when i was 185lbs (3 years ago). i curled and benched yesterday, could curl 40's in sets of 8 and bench 125 in sets of 6 (i could never bench much the highest i ever got back when i worked out was 190lbs two times) and didn't do anything else because i was limited on time. i went to my local park to attempt to run around the track, after one lap i was exhausted and after the 2nd lap i puked. i basically jogged as slow as i walk for 3/4 of the 2nd lap.
just out of curiosity do you have any beginner programs or beginner programs you would recommend? i have finally become so disgusted in myself that i need to make a change and i need to make it now since i have nothing else going for me in my life. the problem is i honestly don't have the money to pay the $50 per month that it charges for my local gym and the closest gym other than that is a 45 minute drive away. i also don't have any input on what is made for dinner or the food that is bought in the house. pretty much all i do with my life is go to classes and play video games all day. i don't drink, smoke, or do any other type of drugs. i mainly eat junk food all the time, i am going to stop that. my main drinks are soda, iced tea, and lemonade. i will quit the soda but is iced tea and lemonade bad? if so, i can drink just water and milk.
i have a fitness machine at my house, it's a zuma pacific fitness or something like that. i know it probably isn't really any good but at least it is something. my dad bought it years ago and he used it for a while but now it just collects dust in the basement. below is a picture of the machine, it is a picture that i googled but it looks to be the exact same machine that i have.

Hey there.
Well you are certainly coming to the right place.
First of all, let me tell you this - you can easily lose fat, build muscle, and look exactly the way you want to and all it takes is two things.
DIET AND EXERCISE.
So, with that in mind - I understand not wanting to pay for a gym membership, and technically it is NOT necessary for your goals. However, as time goes on and your goals change, you will eventually see the benefits to having a wide variety of equipment.
As far as the equipment you have, you can use that....and it will help (better than nothing)
Anyway, here is a link to the basics for you to begin with:

EDIT::
Forgot to mention, you want to avoid iced tea (unless it is NOT SWEETENED) and lemonade (also avoid because of sugar). You want to stick to beverages with no sugar....that means water, diet soda, diet tea, diet lemonade, etc. are all acceptable. I would avoid milk because of the high caloric content - it can be used, but only strategically, not all the time.
