@OP try taking your big breath while standing up, then lower yourself and grab the bar while staying tight. I find it easier to take in a full breath when my ribcage is open, rather than when im bent over (especially for your sake cos your relaxed position over the bar is rounded as fuk)
I'm srsly like the most unsure lifter there is right now.. I just started seriously adding weight to my dl like maybe 2 months ago, so this is all new. I was going for the hook grip at the beginning, and I remembered how awesome 'sarcasm' it felt doing 265 with a hook grip, so I switched it up
