I had no clue they used a bph drug to help with hair loss.
You can do implants or minoxidil, I think those are the options
Finasteride 1mg has common use for hair loss; 5mg is typically used for bph. It functions by the same mechanism for both conditions, actually... it is a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor, which prevents the body from making DHT (type of androgen/testosterone) in certain tissues (prostate, skin, hair). Increased testosterone levels have long been associated with hair loss, and the decrease in DHT would be the reason it can decrease libido. As the DHT production inhibition is dependent on finasteride inhibiting 5-alpha reductase, any libido effects should be transient (go away when you stop using it), so if it did have that effect on you (it is only a possibility), you could just stop taking the medication.
