is this inflammation?

I had this 3-4 years ago but that was back when my bed matress was kinda broke and could feel some springs and I kinda "hurt" my rib cage or something then bought a new one and weeks after felt good
like my rib cage doesnt hurt or anything but under if I bend over or sit down and learn forward, I feel like my rib cage on the right side is getting stuck into something (nothing major just something with disconfort)
it doesnt hurt its just a bad feeling.

im wondering if it could be inflammation last time I had this like I said it lasted maybe couple weeks.

or if this is a known symptom for something in particular

have this again since 2 days.
its only when I bend over or learn forward alot while sitting
--------------------------
I know its not bodybuilding related but im asking bcuz ur a doctor ;p

cheers mate

This can actually be a symptom of many different issues. Is the pain in the lower portion of the ribcage, middle, or upper? Also, does it hurt deep inside, or just on the surface?

It could be intramuscular inflammation or even a muscle pull, however it could even be something more complex.

Does it hurt to breathe deeply? Does anything make it better or worse?

If it's gone, then most likely intramuscular!

its usually on the right side of my rib cage under at the bottom

it doesnt hurt
i dont have any problems breathing
doesnt hurt at touching

just disconfort like if I do a movement like if my ribcage is touching a bone, just a slightly annoying , nothing major.....its only like if I lean forward, sit down and move forward etc (basically when im not in a straight posture)

I say "disconfort" but its nothing major like I said, it doesnt hurt....its just a weird feeling

Hey Raynor, quick question: how can I find how much food I should be eating (calorie intake) according to my weight/activity and such? Too many results come up when I google so might as well ask a knowledgeable person ;)
I've been eating clean for a while now ever since I started working out but never really followed any plan or checked my intake vigorously.

Could you share some of your knowledge as far as macros distribution goes? What do you recommend?

Thanks!

Hey there.

First of all, this largely depends on your goals, body type, and activity levels.

You MUST calculate your BMR (google this). Once you have a resting BMR, you will add calories based on exercise and daily activities. Once calculated, you will come up with a total daily caloric expenditure. You can then determine calories needed to be taken in, based upon goals (fat loss, bulking, maintenance, etc.) A good rule of thumb is to use 500 cals (either up or down) as a gauge, and adjusting from there. Example, if your total expenditures for the day is 2,500 cals, you would want to add 500 to bulk (3K total) or reduce 500 cals (2K total) to cut. Make adjustments from there.

Depending on the severity of the tear, surgery is NOT always necessary.

Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation - along with a good solid knee brace, combined with routine physical therapy, will usually fix the problem without surgical intervention.

Should I get a copy of my MRI results to keep for myself? I feel like maybe I should get another opinion on it, if I need surgery on it.

Also, should I still train legs? if so what should I do? I been doing leg ext, curls, calves, and hex bar deadlifts cuz I hear good alternative for squats. Thinking about getting rehband knee sleeves to keep my knees warm and just warm up more but not sure what type of warm ups to do.

You definitely should.

Secondly, sleeves are definitely recommended, and/or braces with positive support. For legs, you should do low impact only, which means leg press, leg curls, leg extensions, etc. Avoid freeweight exercises for now.
