you can time general moves (like buying last march/april/may) but being like lol i bought at the rock bottom before a rally is a silly venture. only the special people (politicians, hollywood, big tech head honchos, and wall street insiders) get such privilege

Short term you can somewhat predict price movement but not 100%. The goal is to be slightly more right than wrong.

I use technicals for options trading and found that trading based on price action does work in the short term but it's definitely not a science. Like at the close yesterday I purchased some apple and amd calls which proved very profitable.

I've had very good luck picking specific stocks and planning short term trades around their moves. You can get a good feel for where the supports are watching it intra-day that it's harder to pick out looking back at charts.

PLTR has been really steady between 22 and 25, so when it goes below 23 I buy back my calls and when it goes above 24 I sell them again. Made some good day trades doing this.

Last night when PLTR went down to 22 right before market close I tried to buy back my calls but submitted the order 30 seconds after market closed.

GME action is really fascinating at this point.

I was reading this article and it talked about that at this point retail has very little to do with these big moves. You have massive players that are involved in a tug of war because there is a fuckton of money on the line in options contracts.

Just to give you an example a 220 GME 3/19 call is trading for over 60/contract. In contrast a company with a similar price Boeing, their 3/19 220 contract is like 14/per.

The amount of volume in GME right now is a market speculator's best dream.

Smart money like Blackrock and Vanguard are probably still holding their shares and just selling options making an absolute killing with these premiums.

eventually it will reverse but yeah, it is near-impossible to replicate last year’s stupidly phenomenal gains in tech growth stocks

a pull back is due anyways, but after the stock market kamehameha’d the shut down economy in 2020 i dont see it happening even if they raise interest rates multiple times in 2021.

All modelling relies on making assumptions and we don't know to what extent consumer spending is sensitive to changes in income in the model. It might be 27% my friend!

A lower than expected recovery with the added bonus of asset bubbles would be like 2020 all over again
