It has been 1 year of using this method to silence the notifications.

Today after the year expired I'm back to receiving notifications. There is no permanent solution to stop notifications on threads you own.

I still think the idea would be a good implement to avoid this going forward.
Thanks for the tip, saved me my sanity.


Tools --> Tracker --> Tick the box of the relevant topic --> Edit Selected --> Untick "Push Notify"

Implies you're going to track it (because it's currently not in your tracked list if you don't track it upon creating it) , but unchecking "Receive push notifications" disables the notifications.
I wonder if the "How long" drop down options have any effect on NOT receiving notifications. I selected 1 week, we'll see.

Turns out my assumptions were correct about how this works.
Perm solution seems like a logical step to take.
