Can someone explain the 2/3 rule for me without flaming me for it? I'm not new to jsp, but I am.

Basically, it is an unofficial set of criteria traders use to gauge trustworthiness and determine who goes first.

It's based on whoever has the highest in 2/3 of the following:

Post count
Forum Gold
Earliest join date

Again, this is not an official JSP standard and is NOT an effective means of establishing trust.

The safest way to trade continues to be the use of a mediator.

More often than not you will typically only be scammed by people that impersonate people or obvious multi accounts from 2023/2024.

The 2/3 rule of trading has been around for awhile but as bodie said, it’s just a general rule of thumb. Not official in any way, but it’s safe to assume most people aren’t going to scam for pennies. Use a mediator for bigger trades over a couple thousand fg if you feel uncomfortable.

I haven't traded in a while but basically I didn't care about any of it and would just go and send fg, or go and give item, UNLESS someone was extremely new, think days, or first thing he said would be "you send first"

If he said that I was for sure not going to go first, because thats alarm bells all around
