Is it possible to transfer guild ownership if the owner has been MIA for years?

The guild FAQ suggests that the guild owner has to initiate the transfer of the ownership themselves.
I don't think there is a way to transfer the ownership without the consent of the owner.

Yes, unfortunately I read that and was hoping there was a way with them being AFK for years otherwise.

This is correct, you need to be the guild owner to transfer to someone else. Even if he’s been away for a long time.

Surely one of the people in your guild could contact said person elsewhere. I cant imagine they don’t have another place that someone here has them added on.

I only have 1 person that is able to contact me elsewhere, and we don't even talk. I'd say it's not that unlikely that no one can contact them outside of jsp.
