I cba take med for less than 2k fg trade, and I got scammed recently by 2006 user so have 2 questions to act better next time,
If a user is older than me and I don't feel safe to trade first, can I refuse to pay first?
If he insist can I just cancel the whole deal?

When unsure about a trade I would suggest to use a mediator:
How To Request A Mediator

The agreement on who goes first has to be made between you and the user you are trading with.
The safest way of trading will always be a mediator.

If you can not find an agreement you can cancel the deal at any time.

It is entirely up to you whether you want to go first in a trade or use a mediator, the "2/3" rule is not an official rule.

However I do recommend using a mediator for trades as response time for a mediator request is usually less than 5 minutes and the process isn't complicated thus it's a good idea to request for one in-case you encounter a "who goes first" dispute during the trade.

Read about mediations here: https://forums.d2jsp.org/info.php?p=11

Feel free to send me a PM if you have any additional questions regarding mediations and trades.

The 2/3 rule is no official forum or trade rule. It's a user made guideline some people like to follow but it is not mandatory to follow this if you feel unsafe about a trade.
Good luck!

Nvm Lionhearted was faster :P
