Just got me thinking, can you PM a moderator and ask them to close the thread for you? Someone else can make a new thread if it's important

It's more of an annoyance I have to sift through 20+ notifications a day to see if I missed a quote or different tracked thread, or refresh through them when I log onto jsp. You should see how many refreshes it takes to clear my screen after 5+ days offline.
Why not just implement a tracked topic option for your own topic. There should be no need to close/ask someone to re-open. The next person will deal with the same thing.
Just fix it at the foundational level.

Heres a site suggestion. I searched through them and couldn't find one mentioning this so I made it.

Edit: Notification toggle sounds like a good proposal. Good luck!

This makes sense. However I got a feeling that this has been proposed and rejected in the past. Maybe this could be enabled in selected places, like for General Chat threads., but not for trading to prevent abuse? You can try making another Site Suggestion

Here is the work around. Via TheOnlyDenny.

Tools --> Tracker --> Tick the box of the relevant topic --> Edit Selected --> Untick "Push Notify"

Implies you're going to track it (because it's currently not in your tracked list if you don't track it upon creating it) , but unchecking "Receive push notifications" disables the notifications.
I wonder if the"How long" drop down options have any effect on NOT receiving notifications. I selected 1 week, we'll see.
Sounds like you're kind of reversing the intended procedure of notifications in a way; if that makes sense.

Thread can be closed with clarity now.
