The 2/3 rule is not an official forum rule, it's more of a guideline some users like to trade by when not using a mediator. It's used to determine which party goes first in a trade.
Basically, whoever wins in 2 out of these 3 categories would not go first in a trading scenario:
- Earlier join date
- More posts
- More forum gold

I'm not sure of the exact definition of irony or if my comment falls under such, however thank you for your additional input as mediator request is a very useful tool for trades.
