I think it's some nitpicking.

In my opinion, you waste your brain in a different way.

My father is a bit crazy, and he almost destroyed one of my ears.
Because of that, I can not understand strangers while they speak my native language (French).

Because of that, I am far more intelligent than most of people in the world.

In my opinion, if you spend your energy and creativity to understand strangers who speak, you waste a lot of your brain.

That's why I advise you to not listen to them !!

As you can see on the picture, your right ear is only connected to your right hemisphere.

Imagine you get your right ear destroyed.
You can not hear with your right ear.
Sounds can not reach your right hemisphere anymore.

When a black guy speaks with a big accent, you can not decode what he says.
You can not transform the wrong sounds he says into the good sounds that are understandable for your brain.

Your right hemisphere plays the role of filter between your right ear and your left hemisphere.

You waste the intelligence of your right hemisphere to do this work of traduction.

That's just a theory.
But that's what happened to me.
I got my right ear destroyed.
I was not able to hear with the right ear.

My brain was not able to convert the wrong sounds of strangers into good sounds that are understandable.

I was not able to understand while they speak with an accent, even if they speak my native language.

I just can't understand them.

I am not able to understand them.
But...
I have very very important capacities in my right hemisphere.
I can create a lot of theories.

I can imagine a lot of things.

According to Alan Snyder's works, the right hemisphere is for art and the left hemisphere is for logic & mathematics.

Can you understand that?!
