Hello, looking to join this game but never played. Any active guilds that welcome newbies? Any advice for a new player?

For guilds if you're looking to get paid probably inquire with Estonia or maybe Momma's Kitchen. If you're looking for friends check out Eclipse.

Please don't be upset if someone asks you to leave a game. It's unfortunately just part of the game and something every newbie has to deal with until their name becomes something everyone else recognizes.
People don't usually like to take new players into their groups because they're on a mission to hit the master quest and that requires gear to be done in a reasonable amount of time (I'm talking specifically about a group sitting at level 1, they're planning on going straight to 71+).

That said, generally speaking if you see a group above level 1 that isn't full (5 players out of 5) it's usually fair game.

Ask lots of questions if you have them. Other players generally try to help!

In this thread a new(ish) player wanted to become a better player, so other members of the community reached out to try and lend him their knowledge.
