I'm looking to get into LS but is it even possible & worth it with minor investement? Looks like a game I could spend some clicking in..
I have a feeling that you cannot really start the game from scratch without any items and just "work your way up"?

Thanks in advance, looking forward to some input here

If you really want to get into it i would highly recomment to put some fg into it. you will need to get some items to get you going.. then you are able to play properly and might be able to find items to make profit.
you can get a regular income by either getting into a guild that pays for guild points and sell wellables or skillables + eventually get a more valueable drop. ladder slasher is for sure not the best way if you are looking to get a lot of fg but it is pretty addictive and a nice game to play on the long term

I've been working with a player who spent roughly 40-50 fg in it and is about to MQ.
It can be done.
He even did level 1-25 with literally no purchased equipment. I will warn you it will be pretty slow this way.

I am unsure how much time he's spent but it's a great achievement.
In fact he found a lvl 20 100 ee heal, which literally covers everything he's purchased and sold a few items so i believe he's at a positive. I am including a drop which i found whilst welling (he was grouped with me, and with great credit didn't grab it) which was 95 ee scale or leather at lvl 30/35 which i'd have sold him cheaply anyway.

it is entirely dependant on how patient you are. If you're patient enough, LS can pay for itself. a 100 fg climb can be done within say ~30 hours and i would expect to regain the vast majority of that 100 fg back, if not profit.

hey thanks for the quick answer fellow
first off all, theres guilds that pay you play the game?
also what do you mean exactly by "wellables/skillables"?

so it requires a rather mediocre investement to get into initially but then once you get on your feet it all flows good? I'm not looking to make profit, just burn time whenever I got it and try something new

Try it first with gear from level 1-25
You may decide that soon if you like it

i'll clarify some:
MQ: Master Quest - It's the main goal, reach level 71 and boom it appears. Once you use the master quest, you reset to level 1 to go again.
EE: Enhanced effect, this is the main stat used in LS. Think of it like Enhanced damage for diablo 2. Not quite accurate, but you get the idea.
welling: Well's are an area where you can put an item with no stats into it, fight a boss monster and receive a decent drop from it. That's kind of the idea.
LS : Ladder Slasher
Climb : level 1 to 71/MQ.

i also went into depth on character builds, what to sell here:

Why 71? is that the magic number? And what is this master quest, some sort of special boss fight that you have to prepare for?
Cool gotcha. Thanks, I'll check that link

master quest is at level 71 (73 on the next class and +2 for each class beyond that). we used to have a thing of not telling people what it is and i hope that continues. beware of the pink unicorn

1-25 should take less than 2 hours with some decent 1 fg equip on a fighter
