Plus to int items ups the damage and I think reduce mana cost.

Hard points into int increase damage, reduce mana cost, adds to mana pool and slightly add to magical defense.

Yes, prof is like ee

If you are just starting out, I recommend avoiding magician, especially with no forum gold to invest in gear.

mana cost is not affected by int. hard points increase mana.
there are 2 damage/heal factors.
1) ee(+prof+mastery)
2) int

here you can see the base dmg:
https://ladderslasher.d2jsp.org/index.php?g=11

at 5 int and 0ee you will have exactly that dmg.
add 100int so having 105int you will have double that.
add 100ee you will have double that again, so 4 times that.
at 200ee and 205int you will have tripple*tripple = 9 times that

for example 292ee and 305int makes 3.92*4 = 15.68 as a factor
84 max dmg for lvl 55 ice times 15.68 = 1317 max dmg

mana cost/ heal/dmg is affected by a factor of 0.75 if you cast on 2nd slot

If you want to Stick to Casting, rogue can be an Option. Less int and Mana but more Life and wider range If Equipment to use.

You can Always reroll a char Back to Level 1 keeping the items to Go again (usefull once you're too weak)
