BTW, were I melee, rather than going 200/80, I'd shoot for 180dex, 120st, at this point, for optimal welling at around level 70. After the dex nerf, the amount of benefit received above 180dex seems negligible. However, talking to folks who rave that 140 dex is maximum needed, many complain about not critting Well monsters much at all, where at 180+, others seem to crit them fairly often. Don't forget, the nerf was on damage, not the percentage likelyhood of critting.

In other news, i disagree that wind charms are ineffective for Wells.

I'm using a paladin caster and am still able to well @ 90% success, so stop hating on wind.

I well at 100%. Using wind, I wasn't at 100%. As a warlock, when you run into a monster that you can kill in 3 hits with ice, but that does consistant 600 damage shots to you, you need to kill it in that three shots. With wind, you run into this minor issue that while you COULD possible 1 or 2 hit that monster, often times, that's when you pop out the 200 dmg hits, rather than the 1.8K hits you're looking for, and you end up either biting it or having to run.

Again, it's not about the power, but about the consistency.

I've never needed over 65 dex to well.

im kind of a noob still, but i was just thinking, is 200+dex/80str really a good balance? bad gear aside, i usually end up with more than 80 str by level 55 or so and still dont do satisfactory damage with my normal hits.
