Regardless of the outcome i believe the original topic creator did a great job sharing his theory and results. I believe the well is working as intended

That seems to be about average for welling around the correct level.

Trying to gather more info here:

When you say charged up, are you talking about killing 3-4 whistled monsters that dropped ZERO items in a row?
Were any of the side drops higher tier than the item you put into the well?
Can you recall previous amounts of side drops welling around character level and tier level? if so, any difference?

yes. i started with lvl 1 whistle monsters but those wouldnt drop anything at all ^^ so i whistled at my own lvl and waited until i killed 3-4 monsters that didnt drop anything in a row.
when i put in the 35s there were some 40s on the sidedrops as well (just sometimes ofc)

i was just trying to test a bit but didnt take any notes. hard to tell a difference compared to before.. it could have been a bit better with the new way.. but cant tell that 100%

Proves what an awesome game this is, if that's true.

You can get banned for finding an exploit, which is entirely the games fault.

Its only partly true... it wasnt literally everyone in the guild. Benell just counted at the whole guild and he was banned for exploiting the bug and spreading the bug info later on. Interestingly nobody else was banned for exploiting it.
